BurnVoir Corporate Finance Limited was formed by industry practitioners with extensive experience and a strong track record in financial services and the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors to bridge the gap between financial and industry knowledge.

Theo Tsihlis | Executive Director

Theo began his career as a corporate and commercial lawyer with Ashurst before moving to Macquarie Bank as
Associate Director of the Treasury, Commodities and Equities Groups.

Prior to joining BurnVoir, Theo was Director and Co-Head of Project Advisory for Dresdner Bank Australia and,
previously, Vice President of Project Advisory & Finance at Bankers Trust.

Theo has over 30 years of investment banking, mergers & acquisitions and commercial experience, executing on complex national, international and interjurisdictional transactions across the energy, resources and
infrastructure space.

Theo’s experience extends to acquisitions, divestments, privatisations, corporatisations and project and
business restructuring. In addition, Theo has extensive experience in debt financings including both bank and
non-bank project financings, project bonds issuances, convertible note offerings, working capital facilities,
hedging facilities, offtaker funding, and other senior and mezzanine funding.

As Executive Director at BurnVoir, Theo has assisted over 200 companies ranging in size and complexity from
Pre-IPO startups to MicroCap and Mid-Cap ASX listed stocks.

Through BurnVoir, Theo has advised both private organisations and is a trusted advisor to both State and
Federal governments and sits on a numerous State Government panels.

Theo has developed an extensive network of financiers and transaction support providers (lawyers, technical
consultants, etc).

Theo is also fluent in Greek and holds a Bachelor of Laws & Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New
South Wales and a Master of Laws from Sydney University.

Ariel Walters | Executive Director

Ariel began his career at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, across Risk Management and Institutional Banking, where he was focused on providing project, corporate and acquisition finance to mining and services to mining clients in Western Australia.

Ariel joined MUFG Bank 2012, where he was appointed Executive Director, Global Corporate & Investment Banking. At MUFG, Ariel managed the Bank’s corporate and investment banking business in Perth and was the lead industry specialist for metals & mining, oil & gas across Oceania.

Since joining BurnVoir, Ariel has advised and arranged over $1 billion in debt facilities and over $100m in equity capital for junior and mid-cap mining companies. Importantly, this funding has also been to support the development or acquisition of projects containing critical minerals for the transition to EV batteries.

Ariel has over 20 years of corporate, project, acquisition finance and investment banking experience, with extensive commercial and financial experience across a range of different clients, commodities and jurisdictions. Ariel’s expertise extends across project and corporate finance, M&A, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, commodity hedging and trade finance.

Ariel holds a Masters of Applied Finance, majoring in Advisory & Corporate Finance and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Banking and Finance from Curtin University of Technology.

Foo Kang Wei | Associate Director

Foo has more than 10 years of experience as corporate finance adviser, specialising in debt and project financing, mergers and acquisitions, IPO, valuation, takeovers, capital restructuring and other fund raising corporate transactions in both Australian and Malaysian Market.

Prior to joining BurnVoir, Foo was a corporate finance adviser in AmInvestment Bank Berhad providing financial and commercial advice to companies listed on the Malaysian stock exchange and has worked on over A$10 billion of transaction including mergers, M&A and ECM.

Prior to this, Foo was an auditor in KPMG Malaysia primarily focusing on financial services, banking, oil and gas and palm oil refineries sector.

As an Associate Director in BurnVoir, Foo has advised on over A$3 billion debt financing including both bank and non-bank project financing, export credit financing, corporate debt, acquisition debt financing, convertible note issuance, debt refinancing, working capital facilities, hedging facilities and other senior and non-senior debt funding.

Foo is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

John Tsihlis | Manager (Europe)

Located in Stockholm, John brings local presence and knowledge of the financial markets in Europe, where there is a strong momentum to develop local projects supplying energy and critical resources.

This Europe-wide strategy lends itself well to BurnVoir’s expertise, supporting Australian and international energy and mining companies developing or acquiring projects in the region.

John is a founding member of the Australian Business Council of Sweden, and has spent over 20 years in Sweden establishing operations for multinationals across various sectors.

 

Andrew Bray | Manager

Prior to joining BurnVoir Andrew worked in technical, corporate and financial roles across a broad range of
hard-rock and soft-rock commodities.

Andrew began his career as a geophysical consultant working with global mining companies deploying
borehole radar to image hard-rock orebodies in 3 dimensions ahead of development and mining. He
subsequently undertook research focusing on the development of an integrated tectonostratigraphic model for
the Sydney Basin with the aid of reprocessed seismic datasets.

Since 2012, Andrew has worked primarily as an in-house Acquisitions and Operations Analyst for various ASX-listed
mining companies where he was involved in multiple international transactions and supported mining
projects through construction, commissioning and operation. Most recently, Andrew was the General Manager
for an ASX-listed company with international exploration assets.

Andrew holds postgraduate qualifications including a PhD in Geology & Geophysics from the University of
Sydney and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

Reuben Dwyer | Manager

He has joined the firm to provide technical insight into the risk and value of commercial projects leading to
financial strategy and transaction management to completion.

Reuben holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Deakin University, Geelong (Vic.), and a Graduate
Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy from Monash University, Perth (WA).

Reuben has previously spent 8 years working as a Senior Metallurgist, developing and managing metallurgical testwork strategies for green and brownfield projects worldwide, and 2 years working in financial modelling and mining/metallurgical research at AME Research.

Samer Audeh | Senior Associate

Since joining the firm, Samer has provided financial and commercial advice to companies and government organisations in the resources, energy and infrastructure space across a wide range of services including advising on over A$5 billion in project and corporate financings, debt and equity capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, offtaker funding, asset sales and purchases.

Samer provides transaction execution, commercial negotiation, documentation, due diligence and analytical
support including complex financial modelling on advisory mandates.

Samer is also fluent in Arabic and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University (Highest Distinction Honours) and a Master of Business Administration with a specialisation in Corporate Financial Analysis and Planning (Highest Distinction
Honours).

Samer is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society, the highest recognition a student can receive in a university business program accredited by AACSB International.

Jaideep Singh | Associate

Since joining the firm, Jaideep has provided financial and commercial advice to project sponsors and financiers in the resources industry.

Jaideep provides transaction execution, commercial negotiation, due diligence and analytical support including complex financial modelling on advisory mandates.

Jaideep has passed all three (3) levels of the CFA Program and holds a Masters in Applied Finance.  Jaideep has a breadth of previous experience, including development and execution of real estate projects.

Chun Hoe Tan | Associate

Prior to joining BurnVoir, Chun Hoe previously worked in the BDO model assurance team, where he was involved in over $10billion in public-private partnership infrastructure projects across Australia and Asia Pacific, including the $5billion Melbourne metro tunnel PPP project.

Patrick Wilson | Analyst

Patrick has recent corporate advisory experience in the mineral resources industry. Prior to joining BurnVoir, Patrick worked in AMP’s Group Treasury function where he specialised in liquidity and balance sheet management. Patrick has passed levels 1 and 2 of the CFA program.

Jimmy Sharma | Analyst

Jimmy started his career as a Graduate at Pinnacle Investment Management, working with Fund Managers and hedge Funds in an analytical and sales role. During university, Jimmy interned in M&A at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Allier Capital.

Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Bachelor of Economics from the University of New South Wales. He is fluent in Hindi and has passed Level 1 of the CFA Program.
